Officer Involved Shooting Tacoma. Police confirmed there was an officer-involved shooting near the Tacoma Mall around 330 pm. Willem van Spronsen 19502019 was a carpenter and a resident of Vashon Washington who had been arrested previously during a demonstration at the same ICE detention center in June 2018.

At about 7 am police received calls about shots fired and a man. Tacoma Police said an armed suspect was killed in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday evening at the west entrance of the Tacoma Mall. Although no national or standard definition exists an officer involved shooting OIS may be defined as the discharge of a firearm which may include accidental and intentional discharges by a police officer whether on or off duty.
